BuniHub Bootcamp (Tanzania)

In the framework of HUBiquitous Talent Program, BuniHub, one of our partner DIHs in Tanzania has organized a three days bootcamp to talk about our IoT Solution Lab from the 14th to the 16th of September. Participants learnt step by step how to apply WAZITechnologies in their projects. The bootcamp was facilitated by 5 trainers and 38 participants attended it: 15 internal HUBiquitous participants and 23 external.

On the first day, trainers talked about HUBiquitous and its programs. They gave a general introduction on sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and Arduino programming. Moreover, participants also got the opportunity to learn how to start a business and how to make it successful dealing with IoT based products.

On the second day, participants attended a learning session about pitching and the key points to take into account when pitching a business to a potential investor. Furthermore, they attended another session on Radio Communication, both theoretical and practical, during which participants learnt more about IoT devices. After that, participants were divided into different groups in order to work on their prototype project.

During the last day of this bootcamp, participants were introduced to design thinking, a methodology providing a solution-based approach to solving problems. The last half of the day was dedicated to work on prototypes and present them. A commission of judges selected the winning team and all participants received a certificate.

The three days Bootcamp was a success. Participants were able to learn, create their own project ideas, build their own prototypes using IoT, test and demonstrate.
